Shan is an accomplished needle-woman, textile artist and photographer who has had a life-long love of creativity. She is interested in a wide variety of needle crafts and her various skills have largely been self-taught.
Shan currently focuses her time on teaching, quilt-making and long-arm quilting. With her years of experience, she is passionate about passing on skills to others, empowering each one regardless of the level and ability of the learner.
She believes that if methods are taught correctly from the outset, it builds a solid bedrock for excellence in all that follows. Shan has loads of tips and tricks for making what looks complicated much simpler, producing results that any stitcher will be immensely proud of.
Although Shan has travelled extensively, she makes her home with her husband in Gqeberha/Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
