May-Gene Terblanche is an SAQG Accredited Teacher (2014) and has been quilting for over 20 years, of which 17 have been spent teaching and sharing her love of quilting. As a qualified Analytical Chemist, her precision is reflected in her quilt construction. Two of her quilt commissions were selected to tour the World Quilt Show – New England XII in 2014.
Being surrounded by colour and beautiful fabrics makes her heart sing with happiness. She owns May Gene, a fabric studio specialising in Kaffe Fassett and Tula Pink fabrics. She maintains, however, that she’s not in the ‘fabric’ business, but rather in the ‘relationship’ business.
Although a traditional quilter at heart, she loves interesting projects, and her classes are fun, relaxed and informative. She is a patient and encouraging teacher, which has resulted in students returning to do new classes with her.
