Mari Claase is a passionate fulltime fibre artist who simply loves creating with the whole colour spectrum, creating different textures and designing complicated theme work with a lot of complex detail and originality. Her work includes portraits, nature orientated themes, naive and playful themes, abstract/contemporary work as well as 3D soft sculpture and political “story telling”. She is also a national Accredited Teacher. Due to her Occupational Therapy training, her way of teaching is to break down what seems to be difficult concepts / techniques in class and make it as easy as pie to master. Since 2022 she has curated various exciting exhibitions in Stellenbosch and Kanonkop galleries and has been part of other exhibitions in PE, Pretoria and Klein Brak recently. Her life has become one fantastic creative obsession and is truly a wonderful journey so far.
